Common Fraud Tactics Used by Fake Movers

Before you avoid fraud, you need to understand how it works. Most scams follow predictable patterns.

1. Very Low Price Quotes

If someone offers a deal that feels “too good to be true,” it usually is. Fake movers attract customers with extremely low quotes. Once your goods are loaded, the price increases.

Example: You get a quote of ₹5,000 for local shifting. On moving day, they suddenly demand ₹12,000, saying “extra labour charges.”

2. No Office Address or Fake Location

Many fraudulent companies operate only online. They don’t have a real office. They may list a fake address or use a shared location.
